Diaries

I never leave without my sketchbook. Although I may not be using it all the time, I need it constantly with me - just in case. An instant idea, an image, a tag on a wall, snatches of a conversation overheard at the next table, a thought, a sample of interesting material, a snippet of a poster. All this needs to be recorded, stored in the memory, classified. My sketchbook is a perfect tool for this. It forms a databank which may be referred to at any time, waiting to be used at the right moment or perhaps not. A scrap of pasted material or a quick sketch from a cafe may simply remain memories of the moment.
